Round 5 – 162nd Overall

Cornerback Paulson Adebo – Stanford

Sitting there at 162nd overall, I looked at the board and there was one prospect that was jumping off the board at me. This was former Stanford cornerback Paulson Adebo who was at one point considered a possible day one pick. It is possible that his slide down draft boards to this point is primarily linked to his decision to opt out of the 2020 season. However, the upside on Adebo is still there and ready to be tapped into.

At 6’1 and 190 pounds, Adebo is a lengthy corner with excellent ball skills which typically translates into a solid zone corner at the next level. Considering how often the Bills defense utilizes zone coverage, Adebo could be a perfect fit and an unbelievable value at 162nd overall. Those ball skills can be evidently shown just by looking at box score statistics. Adebo had 4 interceptions in both his sophomore and junior season and had a total of 27 passes defended in those years.

The Bills would be lucky to snag Adebo in the 5th round, as he could come right in and compete with Levi Wallace and Dane Jackson for the CB2 position opposite of Tre’Davious White.
