J.J. Watt

Let’s start with a player that the Buffalo Bills have already shown interest in with defensive end J.J. Watt. The three-time Defensive Player of the Year was released by the Houston Texans last week and has already been highly sought after, with the Bills being one of those teams.

This is certainly a no-brainer for the Buffalo Bills as one of their weaknesses last year was getting pressure on opposing quarterbacks with their front four. He is an older player at 31 years old but has shown to still be an effective defensive end. As recently as 2018 he had 16 sacks in a single season.

The addition of Watt would force offensive lines to focus on slowing the former All-Pro down that would then free up some winnable matchups for players like Ed Oliver and Jerry Hughes. This would be an instant upgrade for this part of the defense.
