The focus for the Buffalo Bills is to get the best player at key positions of need and at linebacker there is no one better for this defense than Matt Milano. The Bills drafted Milano in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft and over the past few seasons he has developed into one of the best coverage linebackers in the league.

This past season when Milano wasn’t on the field due to injury, the performance of the defense noticeably took a drop. The Bills finished the year 12-1 in games where Milano played, with the only loss coming in the AFC Championship Game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Buffalo Bills bringing back Matt Milano allows the team to spend a majority of the game in nickel. They would be adding a player that can just as easily drop into coverage to cover a tight end to coming on a blitz to put pressure on the quarterback.
