Quinn Meinerz, Offensive line, Wisconsin-Whitewater
Meinerz came into the Senior Bowl very quietly but went on to make a lot of noise due to his outstanding play during the practices leading up to the game.
Showing his athleticism and strength days before the Bowl commenced, Meinerz’s highlights spread through social channels like wildfire. His play was recognized by his teammates and opponents as he was named the Top OL on the National team.
The 22-year old from Hartford, Wis. had his senior season with Wisconsin-Whitewater canceled due to COVID-19. He last played for the Warhawks in 2019 where he appeared in 15 games and helped the offensive line break records. Through the entire 2019 season, the Warhawks lead the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference in rushing offense with 195.7 yards per game, first downs (310), average 30.1 points and 376.7 total yards per game, and allowed only 21 sacks for the season
Due to the unforeseen series of events, Meinerz spent the 2020 season in Ontario training and fishing.
Meinerz would be a unique set of skills to the Buffalo offensive line that may see changes in the offseason. As mentioned that John Felicano is a free agent and could demand a premium price tag, Meinerz would serve as a cheaper alternative. In addition, Meinerz showed in the Senior Bowl that he can play center if need be.
