Defensive Line

The Buffalo Bills had their two starting defensive ends, Jerry Hughes and Mario Addison, inactive for this game which gave players like A.J. Epenesa, Darryl Johnson, Trent Murphy and Mike Love extra playing time.

It was Epenesa in particular who looked the best among this group, which has been a culmination of the improvements he has made since the bye week. When watching him play, he looks much more comfortable in this defense and is close to making big plays.

This week against the Dolphins he came close not once but twice to blocking punts. He finished the game with three total tackles and one QB hit.

On the interior, Justin Zimmer and Harrison Phillips got some extra work and played well. Zimmer finished the game with two total tackles and one QB hit while Phillips had two total tackles, one QB hit, and a fumble recovery.

Grade: B+
