Playing his collegiate ball at Wyoming, coming to Denver was seen as a ‘homecoming’ of sorts for Allen. Knowing he was passed on by the Broncos in his draft year, Allen showed the franchise just what they passed on.

Throwing for 359 yards, four total touchdowns, and connecting with seven different receivers on the day, Allen seems to improve every week. Following his performance against the 49ers, Chargers and Steelers many would be perfectly happy if that was Allen’s ceiling. Allen, on the other hand, had different ideas as continues to find another level that Bills fans never knew existed.

Speaking of elevated performances, Stefon Diggs had himself an extremely productive one as he recorded 147 yards on 11 receptions.

Diggs and Allen have had the same type of relationship that Jim Kelly and Andre Reed had back during the 90s. The old saying “12+83=6” (6 referring to the points scored in a touchdown) has been reborn.

Allen and Diggs have built something very reminiscent of Kelly and Reed’s relationship. So much so that the two clinched an AFC East title together, again much like Kelly and Reed. If history does repeat itself like it has a tendency of doing, Kelly and Reed’s famous saying may be modernized reading: “17+14=6.”
