Buffalo Bills: 4 candidates to replace Brian Daboll as offensive coordinator
Dirk Koetter, Atlanta Falcons
The entire Atlanta Falcons coaching staff could be looking for work next offseason. Dirk Koetter is well known around the league and he’ll possibly get to choose where he wants to coach next season. Koetter also has head coaching experience similar to Buffalo’s defensive coordinator, Leslie Frazier. That’s certainly a feather in his cap.
The Atlanta Falcons are 4-7 through 12 weeks. But their offense ranks Top 10 in total yards, Top 10 in passing touchdowns, and Top 5 in passing yards. Koetter also had success with Jameis Winston when he manned the Head Job with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He’s shown he’s capable of whispering to quarterbacks.
With Sean McDermott coming from more of a defensive background, he’ll likely want to ensure his offense is left in good hands and is as low-maintenance as possible. Koetter fits the bill.
