Buffalo Bills: 3 players trending up after Week 7 against the NY Jets
Dane Jackson
The depth at the cornerback position was going to be tested in Week 7 after the Buffalo Bills ruled out Josh Norman for this game with Levi Wallace already on injured reserve. In addition, Cam Lewis was dealing with a wrist injury and while he was active he didn’t play a single snap.
This opened the door for seventh-round draft pick Dane Jackson to get his first career NFL snaps. The former University of Pittsburgh corner has spent the year on the practice squad but ended up playing every defensive snap in Week 7 against the New York Jets.
He would finish the game with three total tackles, two passes defended as well as a great interception late in the first half that led to the Buffalo Bills’ second field goal as time expired at halftime.
The cornerback position opposite Tre’Davious White has been an issue but the play of Jackson against the New York Jets has likely earned him another chance to prove he could be the long-term answer at the position.
