Jerry Hughes vs. Mekhi Becton

While the New York Jets won’t have Le’Veon Bell anymore, their offense should have more playmakers than they have in recent weeks. The team is expected to get back quarterback Sam Darnold, rookie wide receiver Denzel Mims, and big free agent signing Breshad Perriman.

However, the biggest return could be left tackle Mekhi Becton, who has played very well as a rookie when on the field.

The Buffalo Bills secondary is dealing with a number of injuries after already ruling out Josh Norman with Tre’Davious White and Cam Lewis both listed as questionable. The best way to help this secondary is going to be to get pressure on Sam Darnold and not give him time in the pocket.

The Bills pass rush has been a bit disappointing to start the year and it is time for veteran Jerry Hughes to have a breakout game this season. Hughes struggled last year but did have a three-sack performance in the playoff game against the Houston Texans.

The hope was that end of the year performance would give him momentum heading into this season. However, that hasn’t been the case as he has zero sacks on the season and only eight QB pressures.

This is a game that the veteran pass rusher needs to beat the rookie left tackle and have an impact against the New York Jets.
