Buffalo Bills: Keys to Victory and Final Score Prediction for Week 4
Take away Darren Waller
Although it may sound weird, the 2020 Buffalo Bills actually have an elite offense and a lackluster defense to this point in the season. The dynamic of having a great offense creates a consistent game script for opposing teams to play come back or keep up and rely on their passing attack.
This Raiders offense has a lot of fire power and has been doing a great job of scoring points and moving the football all season. However, last week the Patriots did a great job game planning to take away Darren Waller. The Buffalo Bills’ defense is known for playing more zone coverage than the Patriots defense, but for this week it may be smart to tip the scales a bit more towards man coverage. By playing man coverage it enables the Bills to put someone like Milano or Taron Johnson on Waller in man coverage and bracket the end of his route with safety Jordan Poyer, while still keeping Micah Hyde back as a single high safety.
Due to the preseason injury to Raiders wide receiver Tyrell Williams and the defensive game plan the Patriots showed last week, they might have set up the blueprint to slow down this Raiders offense. For the Bills in Week 4, it would be wise to use that blueprint and make the Raiders move the football with other pass catchers. It is uncertain if Raiders first round draft pick Henry Ruggs will be healthy enough to play in Week 4 as he was listed as doubtful. If he isn’t the Bills should force the Raiders to beat them with other pass-catchers like Hunter Renfrow and former Bill Zay Jones.
