John Brown vs. Bless Austin

While all eyes will be on Stefon Diggs, the matchup that will be key for the Buffalo Bills is John Brown against Bless Austin. Last year, Brown broke 1,000 receiving yards which were the first time a Bills wide receiver did that since 2015.

The connection Allen has with Brown should carry over and be on display this first week against the New York Jets. While Brown’s targets will likely go down, he will be facing more one-on-one matchups which he should be able to win and likely see his yards per reception increase significantly.

As for the Jets cornerbacks, they will likely try to line Pierre Desir across from Diggs which leaves Bless Austin to cover Brown. The Jets corner is entering his second season in the league after a lackluster rookie season that saw him benched at the end of the year.

While Stefon Diggs will get plenty of work this year, this is a matchup that John Brown could end up being the leading receiver for the Buffalo Bills.
