The cornerback position has dealt with its fair share of injuries so far in training camp with Josh Norman missing time due to a hamstring injury and then on Wednesday Dane Jackson and Levi Wallace also sitting out.

The depth at the cornerback position isn’t necessarily great and if the Buffalo Bills want to solidify the nickel position a player like D.J. Hayden makes sense. He joined the Jaguars as a free agent prior to the 2018 season and is now entering his final year of the three-year deal.

There wouldn’t be as many financial implications here because it essentially amounts to a one-year deal for the Bills. However, what they would be getting is a veteran corner that could step in, or even take the starting job, from Taron Johnson.

While Johnson has done a good job when on the field, he also has struggled to stay healthy. When considering the other injuries the team is dealing with, it is important to add some veteran experience to the position with a player like Hayden.
