Extend Brandon Beane

This might be the most surprising of the three on this list because it seemed like if/when the Bills extended Sean McDermott, that Brandon Beane’s deal would be done at the same time or shortly after. These two have been so connected over their careers as both worked together for the Carolina Panthers from 2011 to 2016.

It was Sean McDermott who joined the Bills as head coach in January of 2017 and Beane joined the franchise a few months later in May.

During one of Sean McDermott’s first press conferences after the contract extension, he said he couldn’t imagine working with any other general manager. However, over two weeks after McDermott’s deal there has been no news about a new deal for Brandon Beane.

Aside from the working relationship with McDermott, Brandon Beane has done a really good job since taking over three years ago. He has quickly changed the salary cap situation to a positive and has done a good job in the NFL Draft by selecting players like Josh Allen, Tremaine Edmunds, Ed Oliver, Cody Ford, and Devin Singletary.

At the end of the day, this is a move that likely gets done. However, it is surprising to see it not being finalized and announced closer to Sean McDermott’s deal which creates some uncertainty.
