Do the Bills change their offensive philosophy?

The last question leads into this next one and that is whether or not the Buffalo Bills change their offensive philosophy of the past few seasons? Brian Daboll has been the offensive coordinator for the Bills the past two years and over that stretch the Bills had the 3rd highest run rate in 2018 and 6th highest run rate in 2019, according to Sharp Football Stats.

The Buffalo Bills are now entering the year with arguably the best running back position they have had since Brian Daboll started running the offense. However, one of the reasons they have been as high is because of the scrambling Josh Allen provides from the quarterback position.

However, Josh Allen appears to be entering the season with a different mindset and not as willing to run with the ball. He mentions he wants to get the ball to his playmakers and this could signify a shift to a more pass heavy offense, which is a shift most NFL teams have made at this point.

The Buffalo Bills have an offense with the playmakers to change from week to week based on the weaknesses of the defense they are facing. However, don’t expect them to change their offensive philosophy too much this year.

Prediction: The Buffalo Bills still rank near the top of the league in terms of rushing attempts and lean on Devin Singletary and Zack Moss to handle most of the work.
