Yannick Ngakoue

The first player on this list is someone that I have been hoping the Buffalo Bills would add this offseason. Originally, he seemed like a perfect target as a free agent but the Jacksonville Jaguars used their franchise tag and he didn’t reach free agency.

However, Yannick Ngakoue hasn’t wavered in his position that he does not want to play in Jacksonville and has still not signed his franchise tag tender. This week, Michael Lombardi of The Athletic tweeted that the Jaguars were close to deal to trade Ngakoue.

However, Mike Garafolo with the NFL Network reported that a deal wasn’t imminent and since Ngakoue hasn’t signed his tender he still has some leverage on where he gets traded to.

The Buffalo Bills signed Mario Addison in free agency and brought in A.J. Epenesa through the NFL Draft. However, this is still an older position group that could use some youth like Yannick Ngakoue.

The biggest challenge will be determining compensation for the Jaguars’ pass rusher. Since the deadline to workout long term deals has passed, the Bills would be essentially trading for a one-year rental player.

If the two sides can come to an agreement, this would be a huge boost to the Bills defense this year.
