Desmond King

The slot corner is one of the bigger concerns for the Buffalo Bills entering 2020. The current starter, Taron Johnson, has done a good job over the past two years but has dealt with some injury issues over that timeframe.

In addition, the depth is lacking in terms of experience and seventh round draft pick Dane Jackson seems to be the next man up. The fact that the Bills use the nickel formation as they do, this is a rather important position.

Desmond King was a fifth round pick by the Los Angeles Chargers in 2017 and stepped into the role as their full-time starter at slot almost from the start. However, this offseason the Chargers brought in Chris Harris Jr., who is one of the premier players at the position, while still having Casey Hayward and Michael Davis on the outside. As Evan Silva notes in his tweet, King is no longer the starter for the Chargers.

The Chargers may keep Desmond King as depth but he could also be had for relatively cheap considering he is entering the final year of his contract. If the Chargers want to get at least something in return before he leaves after this season, a trade here could make sense.
