This is what Buffalo Bills fans might expect from John Brown this coming season.

Last offseason, the Buffalo Bills started rebuilding the wide receiver position with the addition of John Brown and Cole Beasley. The results exceed most expectations as John Brown caught 72 passes for 1,060 receiving yards and six touchdowns. That was the most receptions by a Bills wide receiver since Stevie Johnson had 76 in 2012 and was the first time a receiver broke 1,000 receiving yards since 2015 when Sammy Watkins did it.

This year may look different for John Brown though as the Buffalo Bills traded for Stefon Diggs, who will be the number one wide receiver and Brown moves down to being the second option.

The good news is that this is not necessarily a bad thing and when Brown has been asked to be the number two wide receiver, he has had some of his best years. It has also been in offenses that have leaned on the run game, which is something the Bills could do this year.

2020 Season Outlook for John Brown

While John Brown should have a good season, it is hard to see a way for him to match his totals from last year. He did finish with 115 targets last year and that type of workload will likely be reserved for Diggs.

However, while targets, and subsequently receptions, he is still going to be a big part of this offense. The good news for John Brown is that he will get much more favorable matchups as defenses have to focus their attention on Diggs.

These type of one on one matchups gives John Brown to really capitalize on his speed and be that big threat. The one area I see him improving this year is yards per reception because of having this advantage.
