Buffalo Bills: Takeaways from the team reportedly signing Brian Winters
These are the top takeaways from the Buffalo Bills reportedly adding Brian Winters on Monday.
Entering training camp, especially with the changes in the offseason due to the pandemic, the fact the Buffalo Bills were bringing back all five starters on the offensive line was a big advantage. The continuity the team had along the offensive line would allow this group to pick up right where they left off last year.
That all changed last week when it was announced that Jon Feliciano suffered a torn pec and would miss a significant part of the season. General manager Brandon Beane and the front office had done a good job to be prepared for a situation like this with the depth they had.
The Bills had plenty of options to address the hole left by Feliciano’s absence but another option presented itself on Sunday when the New York Jets released veteran starting guard Brian Winters.
The team wasted little time and within a day of Winters being released, the Bills had reportedly reached an agreement. The Buffalo Bills now have a player who can step right into the starting role and the performance along the offensive line should not dip this coming season.
