Could the Bills lean on UDFA Trey Adams?

With the injury to Feliciano, and Cody Ford possibly replacing him, the Bills would then have a glaring hole at starting tackle. Though it unlikely that head coach Sean McDermott would have UDFA Trey Adams step in and fill the role, his progression from the NCAA level to the NFL would certainly help line depth while they await Feliciano’s return.

Adams is just one of two rookie offensive tackles to be brought in as apart of the 2020 rookie class alongside Brandon Walton. Of the UDFAs, Adams is considered one of the most attractive pieces though he does come with an “injury-prone” tag as he missed significant time in 2018 after needing back surgery. When he was healthy, Adams possessed all the attributes needed to be a second-day pick in the 2020 NFL Draft but the question about his durability and health resulted in him becoming a UDFA.

Tough Adams provides a surplus of upsides, he will be dealt with yet another roadblock as the absence of preseason will not allow him to get any full-speed NFL reps in order to be assessed.

It is yet to be determined how McDermott will replace Feliciano, but the Bills have put themselves in a position where they will be in really good shape if Adams or Walton show any success at the next level.
