Number 3: Tre’Davious White

Current Buffalo Bills fans are aware of the value that Tre’Davious White brings to this Bills defense. In just three years with the Bills after being drafted in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft, White has done more than his fair share to fill the void that Stephon Gilmore left in the defense.

White’s per season rates are among the top of the players on this list but some of that is due to small sample size. Thus far in his career, White has 12 total interceptions at four interceptions per season, which leads the group. Additionally, he has 43 passes defensed at about 14.3 per season, which places him in second for that category as well as three total forced fumbles. Lastly, he finished in third for tackles per season, with 181 total tackles at about 60.3 per season, but on top of that White has a surprising eight tackles for loss since entering the league.

At just 24 years old last season, White garnered increased national attention as he earned a spot on the Pro Bowl roster as well as the coveted All Pro team. He certainly had a career year with six interceptions and 17 passes defensed, but that doesn’t begin to scratch the surface of his value to the defense. Most of White’s recorded stats were deflated last year and for most of his career because he doesn’t get thrown at very often, which is a testament to his coverage abilities. The receivers White was responsible for in coverage last year combined to only 84 targets, and on those targets, White only allowed 47 receptions and 0 touchdowns.

While White has posted some great numbers in his first three seasons in the league, he needs to keep that rate of production up if he wants to be considered the best Cornerback in Buffalo Bills history. With that being said, White is definitely trending in that direction.
