With a hole at the running back position, the Buffalo Bills have used a third round pick the last two years to solidify a one-two punch that should paid dividends.

The Buffalo Bills found its starting running back in rookie Devin Singletary last season, when he took over for the aging Frank Gore. Heading into the offseason with a hole at the backup spot, they brought in another third round pick in bruiser Zack Moss.

This offers an interesting dynamic in the backfield as Singletary is more of a finesse runner who thrives on making defenders miss, while Moss is a heavy running back who likes defenders making “business decisions” when they tackle him.

With these two solidified as the running backs who will be getting most, if not all of the carries, that leaves a few others to add depth and perform on special teams. There is only one running back left who is capable of adding value on the offensive side of the ball in T.J. Yeldon, while the rest are hoping to carve a role on special teams, which includes Taiwan Jones, Christian Wade and Antonio Williams.

The Buffalo Bills are better suited at the position this year than last season, while Gore is a future Hall of Famer and added value in leadership, Singletary has a full year under his belt with Gore and Moss adds a lot more juice to the backup position.

Losing Senorise Perry in the offseason shouldn’t hurt on special teams as they signed former Bills special teams star Taiwan Jones.
