4/3. Micah Hyde/Jordan Poyer

It is hard to separate the impact that Micah Hyde and Jordan Poyer provides and if the Bills were to lose one, it would certainly impact the other player. Recently, the two safeties were ranked as the best duo in the NFL by Touchdown Wire due in large part to how the two players compliment each other.

The biggest concern if the Bills were to lose either player would be who replaces them in the starting lineup. Last year, the Bills had Kurt Coleman who is a veteran safety that knows Sean McDermott’s defense and can step into either role.

However, this season the Buffalo Bills currently don’t have that veteran presence. The backup safeties currently is Dean Marlowe and Jaquan Johnson, a sixth round pick from last year, and undrafted rookies Josh Thomas and Garrett Taylor. These four players are largely unknown and have had limited snaps at safety.
