5. Mitch Morse

The next player on this list is center Mitch Morse, who will be entering his second season with the team. The Bills added Morse last offseason in free agency and made him one of the highest paid centers in the league.

The reason the Buffalo Bills were so willing to offer a lucrative contract is they saw first hand in 2018 why the center position is so critical. During that offseason, the Bills saw Eric Wood be forced to retire and the team tried to replace him with Russell Bodine. The offensive line struggled that season and not having an anchor in the middle to help call out adjustments and assignments real hurt this group.

Last year, the Bills offensive line took a step in the right direction and they are bringing back the same starting five this year. While Morse is critical to their success, similar to cornerback the Bills are a little better equipped to handle his absence with players like Spencer Long and Evan Boehm. They may not be able to match what Mitch Morse brings but they would be able to handle the role for as long as necessary.
