Trade for Mitchell Trubisky

It appears the Chicago Bears are ready to move on from Mitchell Trubisky after trading for Nick Foles this offseason and not picking up Trubisky’s fifth-year option. This means that 2020 is likely the final year for the former second overall pick in Chicago.

In 2018, Trubisky looked to be on his way to being the answer for the Bears’ at quarterback after he finished with 3,223 passing yards, 24 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. However, this past year Trubisky took a step backwards and his stats dropped to only 3,138 passing yards, 17 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.

For the Bills, adding a quarterback like Mitchell Trubisky could make sense because he is very accurate (career completion percentage of 63.4%), is a threat to run with 862 rushing yards in three years in addition to eight rushing touchdowns and has performed well in the playoffs. While the Bears did lose their playoff game in 2018, Trusbisky threw for over 300 yards with one touchdown.

By trading for Mitchell Trusbisky, and if he plays well, the Buffalo Bills would also likely receive a compensatory draft pick when he left in the offseason. If the Bills were forced to be without Josh Allen for an extended period of time, then the former second overall pick would probably be the best option.
