Josh Norman publicizes Bills workout
Last week, NFLPA Dr. Thom Mayer advised that players should stop practicing together. Though some have gotten the memo, Josh Norman posted video of private workout to his story.
The minute and a half long screen record of Norman’s story shows the cornerback working out with fellow Bills teammates. Seen working out on the field; doing feet-agility drills along with ball-catching drills the workouts defy Mayer’s order to cease workouts.
All of this is to help combat the spread of the COVID-19 virus that has swept the sporting world. With players and teams awaiting the official start of training camp, many have gathered for these private workouts to simulate the OTAs that would have taken place during the summer. Due to the implementation of a “virtual offseason” players league-wide have been congregating on common fields to get any sort of work in before the season starts.
With the very real reality of the NFL season being pushed back due to the growing confirmed cases of the virus, players are looking to get any work in they can. Though the league has made it known that these workouts are not to happen, there are many that are being publicized, most notably Tampa Bay Bucs quarterback Tom Brady‘s just a few days prior.
Though it has yet to be seen if the NFL or NFLPA will be handing out fines for infractions against this new guideline, there is a good chance more of these workouts will continue to pop up as the season inches closer.
