Buffalo Bills: 4 single season records that could be a surprise
Receptions in a season
Current record holder: Eric Moulds (100 receptions)
That 2002 season also saw the Buffalo Bills record for receptions by a wide receiver in a single season broken by Eric Moulds, who finished with exactly 100 receptions. He broke his previous record set two years earlier when he had 94 receptions, which his teammate Peerless Price tied in 2002.
Moulds was very consistent over that season with eight games with eight or more receptions and only had two games all season with fewer than four receptions. The fact that the Bills had two players that season break 90 receptions shows just how prolific that offense was with Drew Bledsoe under center.
It necessarily isn’t a surprise to see Eric Moulds holding the record because he was the franchise’s second best wide receiver behind Andre Reed. The surprising fact is that the Buffalo Bills have had only one receiver break 100 receptions, which is becoming almost common place in the NFL. The highest total Andre Reed every had in a season was 90, which he set 1994, even though he owns the franchise record for career receptions.
