Passing yards in a season

Current record holder: Drew Bledsoe (4,359 passing yards)

In 2002, the Buffalo Bills swung a rare trade within the division by acquiring Drew Bledsoe from the New England Patriots. That first season Bledsoe would go on to have a record setting year with 4,359 passing yards, surpassing the record set by Jim Kelly who threw for 3,844 passing yards in 1991.

During that season, Bledsoe threw for 300 or more yards in seven games and broke the 400 mark twice, including a season high of 463 yards in Week 2 against the Minnesota Vikings.

That 2002 season was Bledsoe’s fourth trip to the Pro Bowl but was also the last time the Buffalo Bills had a quarterback make the Pro Bowl until Tyrod Taylor was able to accomplish it in 2015.
