1. Josh Allen

As alluded to before, Josh Allen may be the player on the Bills that has benefitted most from this offseason. By improving the defense, adding three wide receivers, and a potential upgrade at backup running back with Zack Moss, Josh Allen is primed for his best season yet in the NFL. Even with the lack of options on offense for Allen in 2019, he still managed to finish as the 13th overall fantasy scorer of the season, according to ESPN Standard Scoring, primarily because of his dual-threat ability. Additionally, Allen was arguably the league’s worst deep ball passer in 2019 and still managed to finish as the 6th best quarterback in fantasy scoring. If Allen can improve even a little with his deep ball passing, his fantasy output should only increase.

Due to Frank Gore’s lack of production for the Bills in the 2019 season, Allen was asked to take on a lot of the short yardage running game responsibilities. He finished the season with 109 rushing attempts, the only quarterback in the league that had more rushing attempts than Allen in 2019 was the MVP, Lamar Jackson. Allen’s rushing tendencies are expected to decrease in 2020 with the arrival of both Stefon Diggs and rookie Zack Moss. These two acquisitions give offensive coordinator Brian Daboll the opportunity to play to his roster’s strengths. This should allow Allen to focus on improving his passing game with three above average pass catchers in Diggs, Brown, and Beasley while limiting Allen’s risk of injury on designed quarterback runs.

With that being said, Allen has better running abilities than most passers in the league, so don’t expect his rushing production to disappear completely in 2020. This dual-threat ability from the pocket makes Bills quarterback Josh Allen a virtual lock to crack the Top 100 in fantasy scoring for his second year in a row and perhaps the Top 10 for quarterbacks.
