Levi Wallace
The idea that Levi Wallace should be on the trade block is an interesting one but the reason he is here is because the Buffalo Bills have good depth at cornerback and Wallace probably would bring back the greatest return.
There needs to be a caveat here for having Wallace on the trade block and this is only if Josh Norman shows he is ready for a bounce back year or E.J. Gaines looks like he is ready to put the injuries behind him. Both of these two have shown in the past that they can play at a high level in this defense, with Norman going back to 2015 when both Sean McDermott and him were in Carolina and for Gaines it was 2017, his first season with the Bills.
As for Levi Wallace, he has had a chance to earn the starting cornerback job for nearly two seasons however the coaching staff hasn’t fully committed to him. This past year, the team started to rotate in Kevin Johnson towards the end and the fact that the Bills brought in Josh Norman, and brought back E.J. Gaines, raises some questions.
However, with all that said, there are not many cornerbacks in this league that have 23 career starts and is making under $2 million this coming season. According to Spotrac, he is the 172nd highest paid cornerback in the league.
This combination of value and starting experience is hard to find and that is why he could bring back the biggest return of any of these players. If Norman and Gaines perform well in training camp and preseason, Brandon Beane should start calling around to see what he might get in return for a player like Levi Wallace.
