Convert more third downs

One area that the Buffalo Bills could improve to help extend drives and increase time of possession is converting third downs. This past season the Bills ranked 24th in the league in third down conversions at only 35.9%. The percentage looks even worse when considering the fact the Bills had the eighth most third down attempts in the league last season.

The best way for the Buffalo Bills to improve this stat is by winning on first and second down. If the Bills are able to stay ahead of the script, picking up chunks on first and second down then it gives them a more manageable third down. This would ideal help them improve their third down conversion.

The best way to stay ahead on the downs is going back to the first stat which is to improve the run. The more the Bills can run the ball, and specifically pick up positive yards, the better their chances to stay on the field.
