Tremaine Edmunds ties for franchise lead in safeties

It is hard to believe that in the history of the Buffalo Bills the current record holders for safeties is Chris Kelsay and Ron McDole with only two. The Bills have only had 25 safeties total in their history and one of those was by linebacker Tremaine Edmunds.

The fact that there are so few certainly speak to the rarity of a safety in the NFL and these aren’t regular occurrences by any means. However, with Tremaine Edmunds already having one under his belt, and the fact that he is 21 years of age with likely at least three more years he should have a pretty good chance to add another safety at some point.

Since Edmunds will be entering his third year in the league, he should be more comfortable in this defense and have a better understanding. That shift from learning to instinct should help the young linebacker have a good chance at another safety this upcoming season.
