These are four must win games for the Buffalo Bills if they hope to return to the playoffs in back to back seasons.

Every season has a few games that could decide a team’s playoff fate. That doesn’t minimize the importance of all 16 games, but some games carry more significance. The 2020 Buffalo Bills are expected to be one of the better teams.

That theory was backed up by the NFL handing the team four primetime games. Furthermore, three of those games are in December when the league puts the spotlight on the better teams. If the Bills want to backup those preseason predictions, while making the playoffs, there are four games on the schedule that are must win games.

Week 5 – Tennessee Titans (Away)

The first of those opportunities comes against the Tennessee Titans. Nothing will come easy against last year’s AFC conference runner-ups. Last season the Buffalo Bills fortuitously avoided a matchup against current starter Ryan Tannehill. At this point we have no reason to believe Tannehill won’t continue to build on the success he had in 2019.

Expect the Titans to continue limiting his mistakes while riding bell-cow running back Derrick Henry. Defensively we know the Titans will be able to limit most teams over the course of a game making life difficult.

The significance of this game is because of playoff positioning and tiebreakers. One could foresee a scenario in which both are division winners fighting for playoff seeding. Or, both are fighting for Wild Card spots and a win would be needed for tiebreaker scenarios.

It’s because of that the Bills will want to have the upper hand in any scenario in which could keep them in or out of the playoffs. The Buffalo Bills can’t overlook this team while inevitably eyeing Thursday nights primetime matchup against the Super Bowl defending champions.
