Buffalo Bills: Ranking potential impacts of rookies on the 2020 season
5. Gabriel Davis
The next player on this list is wide receiver Gabriel Davis, who was selected in the fourth round out of UCF. He likely has the inside track right now to get some meaningful playing time on offense over Hodgins. He will likely start the year behind Isaiah McKenzie on the depth chart but by season’s end should be the team’s number four wide receiver.
Davis isn’t as big as Hodgins at 6’2″ but has a little more speed. The Bills coaching staff will try to gameplan some plays to use Davis during the season that utilizes Josh Allen’s big arm with his big play ability down the sideline.
There is no question that the Bills are set at the top of the depth chart with Stefon Diggs, John Brown and Cole Beasley. However, when they want to spread the field or work in an uptempo offense, then Davis should be able to find playing time in those sets.
