Antonio Browns to Raiders

It was impossible to imagine what would transpire after the Raiders traded for Antonio Brown but at the time of the deal, it looks like Mike Mayock made a great trade for one of the top wide receivers in the game.

Brown was coming off six straight Pro Bowl seasons as well as six straight seasons with over 1,000 receiving yards. At the time of the trade, Brown averaged 6.4 receptions, 86 yards and .56 touchdowns.

The Raiders got all of this for a third round pick and a fifth round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, as well as agreeing to a three-year deal worth $50 million dollars. This is slightly over the $14.4 million average salary that Diggs has.

The big difference in these two wide receivers is that at the time of the trade, Antonio Brown was 31 years old while Diggs is 26 years old. The Buffalo Bills got a wide receiver that is just hitting his prime while Antonio Brown was likely trending the other direction.

In terms of trade compensation, production, contract the Raiders made a slight better deal not knowing what would transpire over the next few months.

Verdict: Raiders made the better deal
