Round 3 – Cam Akers
The former Florida State running back did not get any favors from the offense he played in with below-average run blocking. However, he was still very productive and this past season had 1,144 rushing yards, 225 receiving yards and 18 total touchdowns.
Akers is a compact running back, at 5’10” and 217 pounds, but is powerful and has the strength to run through arm tackles. He is a player that has the balance to get through those tackles and should end up having a nice yards after contact stat for his career.
The combination of Akers and Singletary would give this offense a great one-two punch as Singletary can be the more home run hitter while Akers can be that tough between the tackles, and around the goal line, back.
