Levi Wallace vs. Josh Norman vs. E.J. Gaines

The expectation was that when the Buffalo Bills signed Josh Norman that he would be competing for the starting job opposite Tre’Davious White. The thought was it would be a two man race between him and Levi Wallace.

Wallace has spent the past two years in and out of the role and hasn’t really played consistent enough to fully lockdown the starting job.

However, the front office went out and signed E.J. Gaines, who had an excellent run with the Bills in 2017 and could be the best cornerback when healthy. That last part has been the problem though as Gaines has struggled to stay healthy during his NFL career.

There is no question that Josh Norman has played at the highest level of any of these cornerbacks, especially during his run in 2015, when he made the Pro Bowl as well as selected to first-team All-Pro. This was almost five years ago and he didn’t really ever get to that same level as a member of the Washington Redskins and there is no guarantee he can again with the Buffalo Bills.

This is one of the more intriguing position battles because of as many unknowns that won’t be answered until they get on the field.
