Team Fit

As previously noted, Jefferson doesn’t have a clear position on this defense however that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. It is just how the coaching staff looks at it and utilizes him.

He may not have the speed to be a true defensive end but he has the explosiveness to be a force rushing the quarterback from the defensive tackle position. He may not have the size to be solely a defensive tackle but he can play the role of a big defensive end in goal line or short yardage situations to set the edge and stop the run.

The way Jefferson fits within this defense will come down to the coaching staff. There is no question that he will be a valuable piece on this defense if he is put in a position to be successful.
