Nickel Cornerback

The Buffalo Bills appeared to have tried to address this position earlier this week and were interested in former Denver Broncos’ cornerback Chris Harris Jr.. However, he ended up signing with the Los Angeles Chargers and the Bills are left to figure out another way to address the position.

The past two seasons Taron Johnson has been the team’s primary nickel cornerback and when he is on the field, he plays well. The problem is that he struggles to stay on the field and has missed time the past two seasons due to injuries.

The need for a good nickel cornerback has increased as opposing offenses go more to a pass heavy attack with multiple wide receivers spreading the field. The Buffalo Bills secondary has been one of their strengths but in a division with Julian Edelman, Jamison Crowder and Albert Wilson there is a need at nickel to at the very least compete with Johnson in 2020.
