Buffalo Bills: Four round mock draft with trades before free agency
By Casey Reed
Round Three, Pick 86: Damon Arnette, CB (Ohio State)
With the signing of cornerback Josh Norman earlier this week on a one year deal it is hard to believe the Buffalo Bills are done adding talent to their cornerback room. Damon Arnette will become a very solid number two cornerback for the Bills and he just so happens to fall to them at pick 86.
Damon Arnette has quick feet and is a physical corner who can break up passes at the point of attack. Arnette is 6’0″ even and needs to put on a few pounds to deal with bigger wide receivers in the NFL but his play will translate very nicely.
Arnette is a corner who excels in press coverage, but his zone play lacks what the Bills might want him to achieve. His fast feet and being able to transition quickly shows promise to become a better zone corner.
In 2019 Arnette only posted one interception, even though it went for a touchdown his ball skills need to be worked on. However, having a mentor in not only Tre’Davious White but also Josh Norman. expect those numbers to grow at the next level. The Bills cornerback depth was tested in the playoffs and is an area the Bills will look to add to whether it’s in the draft or in free agency.
