Round 4, Pick 103: Van Jefferson, WR (Florida)

Another Trade! This time with the Carolina Panthers. Brandon Beane and Sean McDermott both have ties to the Panthers organization even if this time around it’s a different coach. Beane pulls out his phone and gives Carolina a call and offers them pick 137 in the 5th round and pick 181 in the 6th round to trade up to pick 103 in the 4th and with the 103rd pick in the 2020 NFL Draft the Buffalo Bills pick Van Jefferson out of Florida.

Van Jefferson out of Florida is a receiver who stands at 6’2″ who’s an incredible route runner. With the 103rd pick the Bills finally nab a tall receiver who can put NFL defenses on notice.

Jefferson didn’t participate at the NFL Combine because of a Jones fracture in his right foot that will likely sideline him for 6 to 8 weeks. Jefferson’s 2019 season saw him have 49 receptions with 657 yards on 13.4 yards per catch and six touchdowns. His stats don’t tell the whole story as Jefferson didn’t have much of a quarterback throwing to him at Florida which could be the reason he has such a slide into the 4th round.

Next. Grading the Buffalo Bills signing of Josh Norman. dark

Van Jefferson is a first round talent that could fall to the Bills because of the depth at his position this year, but if his surgery goes smoothly he will be back in time for training camp and should compete for the outside receiver spot on the roster immediately.
