Offseason Recap

This offseason is incredibly important for the Buffalo Bills as they try to go from middle of the pack in the conference to one of the better teams in the league. The good thing for this team is they do not have any glaring holes, any position that is a must to upgrade or add to.

The focus for Brandon Beane should be to add more weapons around Josh Allen and solidify positions on the defensive side of the ball. This is essentially what this offseason blueprint lays out.

The Bills are able to bring back some of their key free agents in Quinton Spain and Shaq Lawson but also lock up four players (Tre’Davious White, Matt Milano, Dion Dawkins, and Jordan Poyer) who would be free agents in the near future. It would make sense that a majority of the salary cap would go to signing those players.

Since they are near the top of the league in cap space, they will still be able to be aggressive in free agency and finally address the cornerback position with a long term solution in James Bradberry. On the offensive side of the ball, they get their big wide receiver in Demarcus Robinson and a complimentary piece with DeAndre Washington.

These moves would then free up the front office to let the NFL Draft fall their way and won’t force them to chase a certain player or position. The addition of Yetur Gross-Matos should be a boost for the defense while J.K. Dobbins and Denzel Mims could play roles in this offense as rookies.

The 2019 season didn’t end the way Bills fans would have hoped but the way this franchise is set up for this offseason, they should be able to build out a roster that sets them up for more success going forward.
