Tre’Davious White

The contract situation for Tre’Davious White is a little different than the other three players on this list. The reason is because at this moment, he is technically going to be a free agent after the 2020 season.

However, the Bills do have the option to pick up the fifth year on his rookie contract. While the team will have until around May to make that decision, it feels almost like a guarantee at this point and the Bills would have no reason not to pick that up.

The only reason they may not use the fifth-year option is if they are able to agree to a long-term deal prior to that. The front office would likely want to get White locked in with a long-term deal sooner rather than later as White is a player on the rise and is coming off a season where he made a case for being one of the best cornerbacks in the league.

This could also be advantageous for the Bills in 2021 by avoiding a large hit to their salary cap with the fifth-year option and can spread some of that salary over future seasons.

There is no question that a contract extension for Tre’Davious White should be on the top of the priority list for Brandon Beane this offseason.
