Star Lotulelei

One of the big free agent acquisitions two years ago was Star Lotulelei, due in large part to Ed Oliver, the team’s first round pick this year, and the fact that what Lotulelei does well is something that doesn’t show up on the stat sheet.

The Bills brought Lotulelei in to eat up space and keep offensive linemen from getting to the second level which allows the linebackers to move freely on the field to attack the ball carrier. This is something he does well and the team is going to need a big performance on Sunday against the New York Giants.

The Giants’ offense goes through Saquon Barkley and will only go as far as the running back can carry them. If the Bills hope to contain Barkley they will need their linebackers to be able to attack running lanes quickly and this is where Lotulelei will need to have a big game.
