Buffalo Bills: Players to watch against New York Jets
Cole Beasley
One of those players that was brought in to help Josh Allen in the passing game and be that reliable target is wide receiver Cole Beasley. The former Dallas Cowboy has been an above average slot receiver and in this offense can be that safety valve that Allen needs if he faces pressure.
It should be no coincidence that Josh Allen’s best game this preseason was also the one that Cole Beasley was heavily involved in. Beasley finished with five receptions on five targets for 44 yards in the team’s second preseason game against the Carolina Panthers.
While the Bills will likely showcase the run game against the Jets and lean heavily on their trio of backs in Frank Gore, Devin Singletary and T.J. Yeldon, they are going to need to move the ball through the air. The presence of Beasley is going to be incredible valuable to Josh Allen in those 3rd-and-5 and longer scenarios.
In a game like this, it would not be surprising if Beasley ended up being the team’s leader in targets.
