Zay Jones

Another player who makes the list is Zay Jones, who was drafted in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft. The wide receiver from East Carolina really struggled as a rookie, catching only 27 of 74 targets for 316 yards and two touchdowns. The amount of dropped passes in his rookie season raised some red flags and this was something that had to improve.

The offense last year as a whole struggled with the changes at quarterbacks, lack of talent along the offensive line and not enough weapons to move the ball. However, towards the end of the season the offense started to click and Zay Jones was a big part of that. In the final five games of the year Jones had 19 receptions, 260 receiving yards and five touchdowns.

This year though Jones could have a breakout year. The Bills offense is a little more stable with Josh Allen under center, an improved offensive line, deeper running back position and other weapons at wide receiver with John Brown and Cole Beasley. If these veteran receivers can take some of the attention off Jones, he could get in some winnable match ups and build off last year’s strong finish.
