What is the starting offensive line?

One of the key areas the Buffalo Bills front office focused on this offseason was the offensive line. It showed with the team’s 53-man roster as they will likely only have one starter from last year (Dion Dawkins) and two other players who were on the team last year (Conor McDermott and Ike Boettger).

However, due to injuries this summer and through preseason the coaching staff has not really had much time to figure out which starting five is the best. The biggest injury was to their starting center, Mitch Morse, for the entire preseason due to concussion. They also saw players like Quinton Spain, Ty Nsehke, Spencer Ford and Jon Feliciano all suffer injuries at some point.

They are getting healthy and there has been no indications that any of these injuries will linger into the regular season. The question then becomes for the coaching staff who they line up for the opening snap of the regular season?

The left side is pretty well set with Dion Dawkins at left tackle, Quinton Spain at left guard and Mitch Morse at center. The right side is more influx and the team can elect to play Cody Ford at right guard or right tackle, two positions he saw plenty of time at this summer, or play Ty Nsehke at right tackle, as well as Spencer Long or Jon Feliciano at right guard.

The coaching staff likely has an idea of what they want to use as their starting lineup and this week of practice is going to be crucial to get all these players on the same page before Sunday’s game.
