Tremaine Edmunds vs. Christian McCaffrey

The Buffalo Bills’ starting middle linebacker Tremaine Edmunds is off to a fast start for his second year in the league. He even has a fan in All-Pro linebacker Luke Kuechly, who has had a chance to see him up close during the team’s joint practices. Kuechly believes that Edmunds is a perfect fit for Sean McDermott’s defense.

On Friday night, Edmunds will have a tough task in containing one of the best all-purpose running backs in the league, Panthers’ Christian McCaffrey. The third year back has over 1,500 rushing yards and 1,500 receiving yards through the first two years in the league.

He is a dynamic back and one of the toughest matchups for opposing defenses because of his ability to not only run the ball but catch it out of the backfield. However, Edmunds is athletic enough that he can potentially slow down McCaffrey.

This is one matchup that will be fun to watch between a premier running back and a linebacker on the rise.
