Captain Munnerlyn, Cornerback

Another player from Sean McDermott’s past is available that could be a nice fit with the Buffalo Bills. A player like Captain Munnerlyn, who has experience in this defense and primarily played nickel in his career, would be good competition to add.

Munnerlyn returned to Carolina after a stint with the Minnesota Vikings and has spent the last two seasons in Charlotte. However, his second go-round with the team wasn’t as successful and he was released after this season. At 32 years of age, he is on the downside of his career but could help this defense in limited action.

Last year, Taron Johnson as a rookie did an excellent job as the team’s starting nickel and enters this year as the unquestioned starter. However, the name of the game is depth and while the Bills did bring in E.J. Gaines, who has experience in the role, a veteran like Captain Munnerlyn would be great to add.
