Buffalo Bills: Four three-round draft scenarios for the Bills
Trade Down
First Round – Pick No. 15
T.J. Hockenson / Tight End / Iowa
TRADE: Buffalo receives No. 15, No. 46; Washington receives No. 9
Hock! My guy! Come home!
This would be a great move in my eyes. The team could add another valuable pick, move down, and still draft the best player at their position in the draft.
Hockenson is my favorite player and I think he would fill so many needs. He can help as a blocker in the run game, can be a safety net for Josh Allen, seems to be a McDermott guy, and can create tons of mismatches for defenses. What is not to love?
I am hoping a move like this happens that allows Buffalo to grab a superb talent and fill needs all at the same time while helping Allen, the offensive line, and improving the run game.
Second Round – Pick No. 40
Jeffery Simmons / Defensive Tackle / Mississippi State
If it weren’t for off the field issues and a torn ACL, Simmons would be a top-10 pick in this draft. He is immensely talented and fits exactly what Buffalo needs out of their defensive tackle.
Simmons should be out until the middle of the season, but this is a picture for the future and not right now. Giving him time to heal and become the dominant force he was in college could be a steal for Buffalo.
Second Round – Pick No. 46
Tytus Howard / Offensive Tackle / Alabama State
Howard is a name that people should pay attention to. A former high school quarterback and tight end, Howard is extremely athletic and knows the game from several different positions.
Still young at the position, Howard is coming along and needs to continue to develop. It would be a very good situation for Howard to come to Buffalo and learn from a seasoned and experienced offensive lineman like Ty Nsekhe and sit behind him for a season to develop.
Third Round – Pick No. 74
Kelvin Harmon / Wide Receiver / North Carolina State
Harmon is a big body at 6-foot-3 and would be a solid weapon for Josh Allen on the outside. He isn’t the fastest or most elusive, but Harmon can go up and get the football and make sure he comes down with it.
This is a great spot for the Bills to address receiver if they haven’t done so thus far. They can add a weapon on the outside without using higher level assets to do so and they add a receiver type that they currently don’t have.
