We jump ahead one season and one that ends in similar fashion.

The Bills made it back to the Super Bowl for the fourth straight year, only to lose to the Cowboys for the second straight year.

As fans know, this was the last time the Bills appeared in the Super Bowl and also the last time the team won 12 games in the regular season.

The 30-13 loss to the Cowboys came after the Bills won the AFC East for the fifth time in six years. Marv Levy won Coach of the Year honors and confidence was high after a 12-4 season.

The problem was the Cowboys had the same record and didn’t face much resistance in the playoffs for the second straight year.

After four straight Super Bowl losses, hope wasn’t exactly at an all-time high. But looking back now it is easier to appreciate the accomplishment of making it that far and being so elite for four straight seasons.

Just as much as it stinks for fans, it is terrible that players like Jim Kelly, Thurman Thomas and the rest of the Bills legends on those teams couldn’t win a Super Bowl. But the losses won’t take away the memories Bills fans have of such an exciting run.
